Benjamin Hathaway was a politician that served as the President of the United States. He survived the destination of Washington, D.C. during the Espheni invasion and managed to survive for two years
Hathaway was killed in Charleston by the Eye Worms controlling Lourdes Delgado.
Story[]
Pre-Invasion[]
At some point before the invasion Benjamin was elected President.
Season 3[]
During the invasion Washington, D.C. was destroyed by Espheni forces. Hathaway has somehow managed to survive for two years with few people knowing he was alive. He would eventually send a sniper and others to attack Charleston, South Carolina, believing they were collaborating with the enemy.
Tom Mason and Cochise meet President Hathaway. The president talks to Tom, learning more about the situation in Charleston, and the aid the Volm has given. He is not satisfied by Tom's reasons for trusting the Volm, but after hearing Cochise story about his life, he decides to place confidence in his newfound allies. Soon after, the soldiers alert the base that Espheni beamers are heading towards them. Hathaway is evacuated to a plane with Cochise. While in flight, the president's aircraft is shot down by a beamer.[1]
Hathaway survived the crash along with Cochise, who carried him back to Charleston, South Carolina. The President was hospitalized while he recovered he discussed the Volm weapon with Marina Peralta and Daniel Weaver and later visited the weapon with them to discuss the extra energy required. Later Lourdes Delgado under the influence of several Eye Worms went to the room directly below his and used a Volm-modified weapon to shoot through the ceiling/floor killing the President.[2]
